CHB News: CHB Students to Perform Zero-Gravity Research at NASA
Chemical and Biological Engineering students Michael Browne and Benjamin Freedman are to perform zero-gravity research at NASA. As part of a team of 8 undergraduate students and 2 faculty mentors (Profs. Michael Mason and John Wise) from Maine, two UMaine students will travel to Johnson Space Center this summer to perform studies investigating the effects of reduced gravity on the uptake of toxic metals and metal nanoparticles into live cells. This is the first such opportunity for students from Maine. For more details go to: http://www.usm.maine.edu/toxicology/microgravityu/index.php
