CHB News: CHB Students to Perform Zero-Gravity Research at NASA
Chemical and
Biological Engineering students Michael Browne and Benjamin
Freedman are to perform zero-gravity research at NASA. As part of a
team of 8 undergraduate students and 2 faculty mentors (Profs.
Michael Mason and John Wise) from Maine, two UMaine students
will travel to Johnson Space Center this summer to perform
studies investigating the effects of reduced gravity on the
uptake of toxic metals and metal nanoparticles into live cells.
This is the first such opportunity for students from Maine. For
