The following equipments are either in the department of Chemical Engineering or at LASST Atomic Force Microscope Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope XPS (ESCA) Scanning UV-Visible spectrophotometer with diffuse reflectance attachment Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer Mechanical Tester for compression or tensile strength(Instron) Mercury Porosimeter BET Analyzer for surface area Video equipment for observing spreading and absorption of liquids into paper Wilhelmy apparatus for dynamic contact angle determination Image analyzer Rheometers ( Hercules, Brookfield, Bohlin constant stress device) Bristow Absorption Tester Blade Deflection measuring device Ink gloss dynamics attachment on KRK print tester Rolling nip device to study film transfer In addition, a pilot plant and a paper testing laboratory are available with: Pilot paper machine, 12 inch trim, equipped with Gate-roll size-press Pilot coater (CLC) capable of running at 6000 fpm Lab super- and soft-calender KRK proofpress IGT print tester Standard pulp and paper testing equipment |
